My Design Philosophy

I firmly believe that everyone deserves to love where they live. Your home should be a sanctuary and a comfortable haven to escape our busy lives, recharge and energize us for each new day.  You should feel “at home” in your space, creating and enjoying an environment that works for your lifestyle and needs. Most importantly, everyone (yes, I’m talking to YOU!) has a style, sometimes you just need help discovering and encouraging that style. So many people get caught up in the “should’s” and “should not’s” of design that they get stuck and give up. That’s where I come in. Design and décor are my passion. I’d love to help you create a HOME that works for you and your family and inspires you to live your best life.

As a wife and mother of 3, I know how difficult and overwhelming it can be to find the time to create a home that reflects YOU and your FAMILY. It takes time, inspiration, a little bit of money (shockingly affordable though, I promise!), and experience. With my passion for design and helping people bring their vision to life, and simple and easy design ideas, your home can AND will be transformed into the space you’ve always dreamed of. Your home can AND will be a space that is meaningful and you really, really LOVE.

My Background

I have always had a passion for design and homes. I began my “architecture and design” business at a very young age of about 3 years old (wink, wink) with blocks, doll houses, and graphing paper. I spent countless hours in my room, as a child, drawing, building and decorating the “House of My Dreams”. I was creating in my notebooks, detailed floor plans and filling them with furniture drawings. As a young girl, I always had an appreciation for creating fun, personality-driven spaces that reflected who I was. It wasn’t until I went off to college and beyond that I realized and appreciated that not everyone shared my love and confidence in design and décor, and I realized I could help people create spaces that they too loved.

It was all just a hobby of mine for many years, and after completing a degree in Political Science and working on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC for several years, taking time off to stay home with my three children when they were younger, and then debating about going back to work…Only then, did I discover that maybe, just maybe I could do what I truly love AND it could be my career!

I began small, with decorating jobs here and there for friends and friends of friends, and my business just blossomed from there. Once I began using Social Media, including Facebook Claire Young Design, Instagram Claire Young Design, and Pinterest Claire Young Design, I found myself even more energized and in-demand. My past projects include Home Staging, Curb Appeal, Decorating, E-Design Services, Custom-Home Planning/Design Assistance, Renovation Planning/Design, and Personal Shopping.

Let’s Get Personal

I have an amazing family, which includes my amazingly-supportive husband, three beautiful children, two rambunctious dogs and multiple reptiles and amphibeons (don’t ask :)). I truly LOVE what I do and am thankful each and every day that I took that leap of faith and decided to do what I love. Along with my passion for design, I also love fashion, blogging, cooking, running, tennis and any/all sports.
